International Women’s Day (8 March) is a global day celebrating the economic, political and social achievements of women past, present and future.

On the Women’s Health and Lifestyle show, it is only right we embrace the day.

During the show, we will be celebrating the beauty of being a woman which will include discussing looking good, feeling good and being confident.

Potential U from Potential U Style and Image Consultancy will be joining us to talk about ways of looking stylish and feeling confident in your wears.

At Potential U, the philosophy is: regardless of your budget, lifestyle or age, you deserve to look stylish and feel confident - a philosophy that I believe, suits us all!

So check in with Sherryl Blu this Monday from 9pm to join in the discussion…

Are you aged between 15–24 and living in Brent?

Chlamydia is the most common sexually transmitted infection (STI) in Brent and the UK.

What is Chlamydia?

  • Most men and women with Chlamydia have no symptoms and do not know they have it.
  • It is easily passed to your sexual partners
  • Why get tested?

  • 1 in 10 young people who are tested for Chlamydia have this infection.
  • If Chlamydia is left untreated it can lead to serious health problems, such as not being able to have children.
  • The good news is that it is easily treated with antibiotics.
  • How:

The test for Chlamydia is painless, quick and easy. All you need to do is pee in a pot. Testing and treatment for Chlamydia is free and confidential. You can get your result by text message.

    Who:

All young people aged 15-24 who are having or have had sex should be tested at least once each year. You should have additional tests if you change your sexual partner within this time.

    Where:

You can get a test at your GP practice or a family planning clinic or ask for a free kit from selected local pharmacies. Further details can be found at www.nhs.uk. Alternatively, you can order a postal kit online at www.checkurself.org.uk or call the Chlamydia Screening Office on 020 8869 5377 or 5447 to get a kit or for more information.

We hope you will decide to have a test and protect your health and your future fertility.
