Erroll Dee grew up in the heart of Harlesden and went to school locally in Brent. He left school in the 70’s to pursue a career as a Sounds Man (sound engineer) but was soon brought down to earth due to loads of work and not enough pay to share between all members of the Sound System, Jah Yoots.
After re-training in the 80’s Erroll began a career in Communication Sales and Marketing and climbed the career ladder quickly into Sales Management. This led Erroll into the field of training in sales/marketing. Erroll then changed industry and moved into Security Sales, selling intergrated systems. However, after 5 years of that Erroll bowed out of the industry at the top, after featuring on a television programme entitled Beat The Burgular hosted by Dominic Littlewood on the BBC.
In his own words, “my first love is always music, keeping a hand in with the occasional party. In the late 90’s I decided to focus more on the music side of the business by hiring out sound equipment for stage shows and club and party nights. Now the music is my bread and butter. I’m either playing out or hiring out my services and I’m loving it”.
To cap it all off, after working with BANG Edutainment for several years, Erroll now presents a show on BANG Radio 103.6 FM called The Vinyl Connection, every Sunday night at 12pm. The show is unique in many ways; from playing strictly vinyl to musicology reflecting on the lives of each artist from Reggae, Soul and much more.
The shows aim is to inform and entertain, bringing the gap between the UK and Jamaica with our live link with special guest, David Chen giving listeners a taste of our culture.
So get on board and be inspired
