FREE Download Somethin’ for Nothin’ - Daniel Moore - Halfway Love

Grammy Nominated singer/producer/song-writer/musician, Daniel Moore is quickly becoming a musical staple in the music industry today. Graduating from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts where he was named double gold winner of the NAACP ACT-SO competition in 1999 in the vocal contemporary and instrumental contemporary categories, Daniel furthered his musical education by attending the Hartt School of Music to study with legendary jazz saxophonist, Jackie McLean. It was there where Daniel became one of the one of the founding members of the hit production team, Tha Cornaboyz, working alongside the multi-platinum group Jagged Edge. However, Daniel’s voracious appetite for many different kinds of music would not allow him to confine himself to any one sound or style.

Daniel continues to climb the charts compiling songs and sharing the stage for such musical icons as Anita Baker, Jennifer Hudson, Michael McDonald, TLC, Ciara, Marvin Sapp, Richard Smallwood, Sheri Jones-Moffett, The Anointed Pace Sisters, and Broadway’s “Original Dreamgirl,” Jennifer Holliday. His intricate manipulations of melodies and harmonies and unforgettable stage performances have already gained him notoriety on a national scale. Daniel’s most recently known for his work on BET’s widely popular television series, “Sunday Best,” and as a member of “Big Jim’s Penthouse Playas” on the hit television show…The Mo’nique Show.

Daniel continues to raise his own personal bar in his level of creativity and set new standards for his expression. Following in the footprints of those who have created true “feel good” music, he introduces a new and innovative digital movement with the 2010 launch of IAMDANIELMOORE.COM. Almost reminiscent of the analog 45′, Daniel designs a musical collogue that deals relationships, social issues, and personal energy with a sound that reflects a mixture of retro harmonies with live instrumentation and an inimitable urban twist. Daniel’s desire is for the consumer to take this artistic journey with him is a testimonial to the world that, “people STILL like good music…”

Neo soul (and soul, in general) is seeing a hint of a revival as of late. Stalwarts such as Erykah Badu and Maxwell have made an impact in the past year. Newer acts such as the Foreign Exchange continue to expand on the sub-genre. The latest neo soul act to step up is Dwele, who is well known both for solid LPs and killer guest appearances. W.W.W. (W.ants W.orld W.omen) is his first album in two years and first leak “What’s Not to Love” offers a sneak peak into what we can expect from the soulman. It’s along the same lines of his previous work, with its jazzy tendencies and breezy vibes, though that’s not a knock by any means. The track builds into an infectious hook full of horn stabs and great back-up vocals. (prefixmag.com)

W.W.W. is due out June 29 on Koch

Listen Again as D-Nyce speaks to Singer, Songwriter Jesse Boykins III….

jesseboykins-article-image

With each generation a new style of music emerges. While the new generation celebrates its divergence from the generation before in the shaping of its own musical identity, the older generation tends to discredit the ability of the new sound to qualify as real music. Singer, Songwriter Jesse Boykins III has found a way to reconcile these differences. His music possesses a jazzy and soulful sound reminiscent of early R&B acts, but his production and writing are undeniably relevant today Jesse was born in Chicago, moved to Jamaica at the age of 5 and four years later would spend the rest of his youth growing up in Miami.

Jesse’s career in music began at the age of 9 when he joined his school choir. He soon began auditioning around Miami and found himself recording with various local Miami artists. His first EP, Dopamine: My Life On My Back EP was released February 14, 2008 and his follow up The Beauty Created LP was released November 25, 2008 through NomaDic MuSic, a partnership between him and long time friend and New York Giants wide receiver Sinorice Moss. . Fresh from his DEBUT London performance at Writer’S Block, Cargo on 14/4 in London performance at Writer’S Block, Cargo on 14/4 in London, England, UK Jesse spoke to d’nyce on Soul-D-Out Thursday 15/4 LIVE in the studio between 8pm – 9pm – Listen Again!
