Notting Hill Carnival 2010 is oh so very close….we can smell the tropical flavours in the air, feel the energy and hear some good thumping bass! Of course, D&B represents, so it’s only right that The Drum & Bass Show represents on BANG!
We’ve got a very hot show planned for this week, with everything as it usually goes for the first hour of our show, but come 11pm Micky is going to mix it up - literally! Micky Mafia will be dropping an exclusive 1 hour (no interruptions, promise!) Carnival Special mix, featuring your fave jungle and ragga influenced D&B party tunes.
Joining him will be friend of the show and incredibly talented MC, CD! Together, Micky and CD will tear it up and are guaranteed to get you ready for Carnival Weekend, or at least help you warm up…if you’re unsure of which moves to go for, Lady V will be on hand, so check us out on the BANG 103.6fm Ustream channel!
We cannot wait, it’s gonna be live (we always are, each and every Friday night!) and on fiiiiire!

With Summer winding down (has the UK really had a Summer?) there’s only one way to end it on a BANG and that’s by heading out to San Teodoro in Sardinia to listen to Drum & Bass by the idylic crystal waters!
Now in its 8th year, the week long festival running from 4th - 11th September provides the deeper sounds of D&B from more darker, tech beats to soulful vibes. Sun & Bass is a music festival like no other!
Lady V will be heading out there to soak up the sounds, scene and rays and catch up with artists such as Klute, Calibre, Flight and Stamina….the line-up is large!

Carnival time is coming!! Everyone is getting involved and everyone is up for a party!

Joining The Drum and Bass Show this Friday are Fizzy Liquid’s Mr. Joseph and Deefa MC!
They will be coming in to chat about what the Fizzy family have got up to over the past 5 years as well as tell us more about the Fizzy 5th birthday celebrations taking place on Saturday 21st August at the Gramaphone - a special party headlined by the mighty LTJ Bukem!
Since Fizzy Liquid began in 2005, the crew have been putting on raves throughout London, from their monthly parties at Camden’s Oh! Bar to the sold out Undone Summer Boat parties. A defining feature of their raves and an important factor in their success has been their focus to provide nights with big headlining acts for a small entry fee…making Drum & Bass accessible to all! Naturally this, combined with the DJ and MC talent which Fizzy’s Mr Joseph, Deefa MC, Izzy, Andy Skopes, Paul T, Cliche MC and Turmoil have to offer have kept them up on top as important championing members of the D&B scene in the UK.
The collective’s success and hard work has also opened other avenues, with both a digital download store on their website www.fizzyliquid.com and the birth of label Fizzy Beats in 2009 - there seems to be nothing stopping them, and we’re excited to hear more about release 003!

S.P.Y on The Drum & Bass Show!

One artist who seems to flow effortlessly between Drum & Bass subgenres and win over the ears and hearts of D&B ravers all over the world with his tunes is Brazilian producer and DJ, S.P.Y.
A favourite producer for both Micky and Lady V, they have been championing S.P.Y’s beats for the last year as everything that comes out of the S.P.Y HQ is pure gold. Whether he creates a hypnotic but thumping dirty tune like ‘Favela’ which is currently in every DJ’s record box, or delivering tunes like ‘Feel The Music’ which is like a ray of sunshine sparkling amongst sets, S.P.Y’s production is undoubtedly always on point.
Highlighting his ability to produce such eclectic beats, is his superb back catalogue of tunes from the last 4 years that have been released on a variety of labels such as CIA, Spearhead, Liquid V and Metalheadz, which all promote different sounds to the D&B scene. There are also the collaborations with artists such as Marky, Total Science and C.A.B.L.E as well as a list of big remixes….where SPY finds time to create this amount of good music and travel the world touring, is a mystery!
But don’t worry, as Micky and V will be finding this and a lot more when S.P.Y comes into the BANG studios for the Drum & Bass Show on Friday 30th July, 10pm-midnight. He’ll also be dropping a very special 30min mix, so make sure you don’t miss it…and Lady V has a very very special question to ask him. Will he say yes??

We are officially in the midst of Festival Season 2010! Of course Drum & Bass is representing and whether you’re after a week long raving holiday or a mini weekend sesh soaking up the bass and dirty wobbles, you are guaranteed to find a festival to satisfy your needs.
Fresh from Innovation In The Sun 2010, The Drum & Bass Show is already getting ready for our next festival outing (um, we like to call it ‘market research’) …and where else would we want to be partying it up but at GLOBAL GATHERING!
Now in it’s 10th year, the weekend long festival taking place in Long Marston Airfield, Stratford Upon Avon, is one which dance music lovers from all over the UK gather to watch the masters of dance music do their thing live; from House to Electro to Dubstep, and of course Drum & Bass.
Oh yeah, and did we mention that Faithless and Dizzee Rascal are headlining?
Repping the Drums will be Random Concept who are delivering a delectably divine line-up of the bloomin best of Drum & Bass - standard, as they have done every year!
Take a look at the line-up and try not to yell too loud with excitement!
Micky and Lady V are going - this is an event that has been in their calendars since last year’s Global Gathering and of course we want YOU to come with us!
