Check out BANG FM at the Notting Hill Carnival

What can I tell you about Carnival 2010? Well it went a bit like this… As we approached the carnival, we could hear the heavy bass lines from the music creeping up on us. Some of the street teamers started skankin out and getting live! We all made it to The Tabernacle, which was where BANG FM were based and met with one of the street team coordinators, Remel. She gave us the brief for the day and after that we headed out on to the busy streets of West London.  We gave out badges and flyers to everyone we saw as we passed through carnival.  After some hard skankin, I mean work, we headed back to our base to refuel on some delicious BBQ burger’s with spicy rice and salad- you know how we do keep it healthy!

Throughout the day, we got to see some famous people including KANO, DONAEO & GAPPY RANKS, but we didn’t get to take any pix with them. BANG were broadcasting live from the carnival over the two days, some of the presenters who came along to bring the carnival vibes to the airwaves included Lynnike & Sefa, Blaze, Vyper G, Jarren C, Zyleen, Sherryl Blue, Donatella,  Jay Jones & King Caztro. We had some special guests passing through including Meleka, Mz Bratt, Eddie Kadi and more. We had a heavy time and showed everyone there just how BANG get down.

City Boy Soul King Caztro will be reuniting with London’s sensation “City Boy Soul” once again on “UP IN SMOKE!” An engagingly charismatic and groundbreaking new UK talent, who delivers as well live as on record - Pete Lewis of Hip Hop Connection/Blues & Soul “A truly independent act, well arranged/performed” - Lauren John of Music.co.uk “The combination of Coree Richards from previous outfit Damage and UK rapper Gak Jonze make a winning formula for success” -The Music Freak of Musicvita 2010
A pairing of none other than Coree Richards from superstar boy band Damage, and Gak Jonze, an essential UK rapper in today’s Hip Hop scene, City Boy Soul have already gained the attention of key industry figures from Trevor Nelson to Simon Cowell.
Despite current interest around the band from major players they’re determined to do this their way and No Regrets (Who We Are) not only lyrically echoes this intent but will be released through indie label Mykali Records giving the boys full control of their music, which from the sounds of this track, is no bad thing.

Produced by U-Boy (known for his work with Lemar, MC Harvey, J-Rok/Randy and Party Dark) the track has already caught the attention of the club scene and it’s easy to see why with it’s instant blend of pop, R&B and hip-hop. Accessible, with just the right amount of bite, this is the start of big things to come for C.B.S

About Coree:Growing up in NW London Coree began nurturing his vocal talent at his Grandmother’s Church before getting involved with singing at school. It was here Damage formed going on to produce hits such as ‘Love Guaranteed’, ‘Forever’ and a cover of Eric Clapton’s ‘Wonderful Tonight’ that reached number 3 in the charts.

After leaving Damage Coree began work on his solo material debuting with ‘I don’t give a damn’ which was video of the week on Trevor Nelson’s ‘The Lick’. He went on to explore his urban roots both writing and performing internationally and it was in between tours he met Gak on the London Club scene and formed City Boy Soul

About Gak: Gak first found a love of music aged 5 rapping amongst his brothers, and by 9 had made his first public performance. Determined to follow his calling he secured management and started his recording career with Garage track ‘Your Body’. Adopting the name Chameleon due to his ability to effortlessly shift styles and whilst at university, somehow aged only 17, Gak became the front man of ‘Live Evil’ (also featuring Roni Size drummer Tony Phillips).

Since then this shar lyricist has been involved in many projects which eventually lead to him working with girl group Cherry Falls until 2006. With a rich history in the industry now is Gak’s time to shine and C.B.S is the perfect platform to showcase this versatile talent

In December 2008, he appeared on the cover of XXL magazine along with Asher Roth, Charles Hamilton, and Wale as “Hip-Hop’s Class of ‘09″.[3][4][5] In October 2008, B.o.B was featured on the cover of Vibe along with some of these same young musicians and was similarly identified as promising young talent.[6][7] He has described his influences as “80’s music, Rap, techno, rock, funk, even du wop…”[8]

His debut album, B.o.B. Presents The Adventures of Bobby Ray, was expected to be released on May 25, 2010 but was recently pushed up to April 27, 2010, which is very rare especially for a debut album. The album is expected to be released under T.I.’s record label Grand Hustle.[9] The first single, “I’ll Be in the Sky”, was released in late 2008. About.com called the song a “smart, funky artrap and a strong prelude to his album” and included it at #13 on its subjective ranking “Top 100 Rap Songs of 2008″.[10] Incidentally, another song produced by Bobby Ray called “Generation Lost” listed alongside the song on the ranking at #32. The music videos for “I’ll Be in the Sky”, “Generation Lost”, “Put Me On”, and “No Mans Land” can be found on MySpace or YouTube.[11] B.o.B recently released the video to his hit single, “Nothin’ On You.”
