What can I tell you about Carnival 2010? Well it went a bit like this… As we approached the carnival, we could hear the heavy bass lines from the music creeping up on us. Some of the street teamers started skankin out and getting live! We all made it to The Tabernacle, which was where BANG FM were based and met with one of the street team coordinators, Remel. She gave us the brief for the day and after that we headed out on to the busy streets of West London. We gave out badges and flyers to everyone we saw as we passed through carnival. After some hard skankin, I mean work, we headed back to our base to refuel on some delicious BBQ burger’s with spicy rice and salad- you know how we do keep it healthy!
Throughout the day, we got to see some famous people including KANO, DONAEO & GAPPY RANKS, but we didn’t get to take any pix with them. BANG were broadcasting live from the carnival over the two days, some of the presenters who came along to bring the carnival vibes to the airwaves included Lynnike & Sefa, Blaze, Vyper G, Jarren C, Zyleen, Sherryl Blue, Donatella, Jay Jones & King Caztro. We had some special guests passing through including Meleka, Mz Bratt, Eddie Kadi and more. We had a heavy time and showed everyone there just how BANG get down.

BANG Street Team electric slide through Harlesden
August 2, 2010 by Lynnike & Sefa
Filed under BANG Youth, Blogs, Events, Features, Headlines
Yo what’s really good? It’s Diagonal here. Where were you on Friday? You should have been in Harlesden with us!
Myself and the BANG Street Team were skankin out in Harlesden by the Jubilee Clock. We had an idea to do the cameo dance AGAIN to attract a lot of attention. We were vybzin and giving out flyers to all the passers by. Most importantly we were spreading ‘the word’. ‘BANG’S THE WORD’ in case you wondered.
Everyone was trying hard not to flop the dance, especially as it was being filmed!! I flopped and had to evacuate the vicinity boy lol. Remel ‘the Pro’ flopped twice. Don’t think I didn’t see. I was watching lol. The joke was the way she styled it out.
Josh was doing well until the end when he decided to jump with our stereo and stopped the music!
Don’t think that all folks. COZ ITS NOT!
We plan to go all over the Gaff Spreading the word of BANG. Listen, Read and watch out for us.
If you are 16-23 yrs old and you want to be a part of the BANG movement and possibly join our street team… Holla at us with your full name, contact number, email address and date of birth and we will get back to you.

Shawalin performing at the Sunday Show… This week Sunday!

Hi, my name’s Shawalin. I’m a 19 year old rapper/songwriter from North-West London and I’ve had hits with songs such as ‘Primark Gwop’ and ‘Dedicated (To Sam’s Chicken)’. Performing has always been a passion of mine, so I was excited to hear about the BANG’s Got Talent competition last December. When I took part I discovered a great opportunity to showcase my talents alongside some of the hottest young artists around. I won the competition after performing my song ‘Primark Gwop’ in front of a panel of judges and a roomful of BANG listeners. Great as this was, the best bit by far was the prize: An interview on Lynnike & Sefa’s drive time show and getting my song playlisted on BANG FM for 2 months. This helped me more than I could imagine and I saw my YouTube views rocket in a short space of time (now over 50,000). Since then I have become a member of the BANG street team and released two more videos, soon to be playlisted on national TV. As a young artist I have a lot of respect and appreciation for the support that BANG shows to UK talent. You’d be mad not to listen in!
This week Sunday, I will be performing at The Sunday Show, please come and support. It’s only £5 before 7.30pm or £10 after. The Sunday Show is on every Sunday @ Strawberry Moons, 15 Heddon Street, London, W1B 4BF. I hope to see some of you guys there
