Be Part Of ‘Brent’ - The Play
It’s ya girl, Tahirah here! It’s been a minute since we’ve posted anything, I know! We’ve been caught up in exams, working and all that umm…fun stuff.
Last week Thursday 25th June (just two hours before I heard about the tragic MJ news - I’ll post my thoughts on that later) Lauren and I focused on entrepreneurship and were joined in the studio by the lovely Cheryl & Patrice from PaulaStar Creatives! They told us all about PaulaStar Creatives, what it represents, all the hard work they put into their socially responsible company and their plans for the future.
They also told us about ‘Brent’, a play written by Cheryl which is based around a teenager - Brent - and the challenges and triumphs him and his peers face in his environment. PaulaStar Creatives are doing OPEN AUDITIONS for ‘Brent’ on Monday 6th & Tuesday 7th July, and they are looking for YOU to get involved.
There are lots of opportunies to get involved; Cheryl and Patrice are not only looking for cast (actors and actresses), but additional talent (rappers and poets) and crew (make-up artists, writers and wardrobe assistants). You just have to be aged between 14-25 years old and a resident of Brent.
You have to book your audition slot, so get in touch with them today:
patrice.jackson@paulastarcreatives.co.uk / cheryl.forde@paulastarcreatives.co.uk or simply text ‘audition’ to 07739537202
It’s a huge opportunity so contact them for more information!
Lauren and I have lots more guests and big topics coming up on Talk with Lauren & Tahirah over the next few weeks so make sure you lock in EVERY Thursday at 9pm!

D’Nyce talks to Soccorro

Tune into Soul-D-Out Mondays THIS Monday 29th June to hear D’Nyce in conversation with Soccorro.
By her own description, Soccorro’s music is characterized as a fusion of soul, and rhythm and blues. One only has to
listen to Soccorro sing to feel as if there is no choice other than to believe each and every word. A Georgia native, Soccorro’s foray into music seemed predestined even at the early age of four. Born to equally talented parents, her mother was a dancer and her father a rhythm and blues singer, it’s no wonder Soccorro developed a love for the stage.
By age 13, she and two of her female friends had already formed a trio singing group, for which she wrote, and arranged songs. In college her musical experience continued to escalate. By the time she graduated, Soccorro had performed jazz in New York City, African call-and-response in Spain, and sang background for the Phat Cat Players. As if those accomplishments weren’t enough, she’s shared the stage with iconic performers such as Kelly Price, Keith Sweat, K-CI and Jo Jo, S.O.S Band, and George Clinton, just to name a few. Though, she is overtly modest when it comes to speaking about herself, she get’s D’Nyce’s stamp of approval - “I’m here to tell you that you should check out Soccorro’s album - my album of the month (June) ‘Love’s Experience’ you WILL become a fan, trust me!”
So tune into Soul-D-Out Mondays with D’Nyce on BANG between 7-9pm to let Soccorro make you a fan.
