Every now and then a you hear a DJ play that sets them apart from the rest. They manage to take the listeners and clubber’s into their own musical world. On that note meet 17 year old DJ Nephu from East London. Nephu first began experimenting with turntables three years ago, playing at mates house parties and local clubs.

DJ Nephu specialises in Djing and doing remixes in the Hip Hop Baltimore led genre. This is one name that you are going to be hearing a lot more of in 2009!

New Health & Fitness Blog

November 27, 2008 by Energie Fitness Club

Welcome to this new Health & Fitness blog exclusive to BANG Radio courtesy of Energie Fitness Club in Wembley.

I’m a personal trainer at the centre and as we are partnering with BANG Radio, I will be bringing you a weekly, topical blog on health & fitness.

Consider me as your very own online Personal Trainer who will be providing you with the latest health & fitness tips and any tricks that I think you may be missing out on

This week’s topic is for the ladies. The beckoning question on many female lips at the moment is how do celebrity mums manage to drop as many as 3 dress sizes after pregnancy in such a short period of time?

You will be happy to know some of these mums have to work just as hard as anyone else to get their bodies back into shape but of course they have the added attention of a full time personal trainer and cook at their disposal!  But don’t let that dishearten you as getting back into shape can be achieved by anyone serious about getting good results.

So where do you get started?
First things first, you have to have a goal, ask yourself what you’re looking to achieve. Once you know, write it down, it’s very important that you don’t lose sight of that goal.

Ok, so now we know what you want, but how do you get there? What do you need to do to make that goal a reality? Well, you need a consistent exercise routine and a good diet! Yes, that’s what everyone says, but it’s true and unfortunately there is no magic pill that you can buy over the counter so let me do what I do best and start paving your way to a slimmer and finer body…

Step One - Excuses Out

Before I start with a very basic guideline on what to do let’s very quickly get the excuses out of our systems. I’ve heard them all before and you just have to focus and tell yourself you’re not going to let them stop you this time! So here goes…

  • I get back late from work
  • I have to feed the kids
  • I don’t get time
  • I need to have a lie in
  • I’m busy on the weekends
  • I’m spending time with my partner
  • Exercise doesn’t work for me
  • I used to be a member of a gym before and I didn’t see any results
  • I’m just too lazy

….ok out of your system?… Good… let’s keep moving

Step Two - The Kick Start
You can kick start your exercise routine with as little as 30 minutes every other day!  It’s really not that difficult. In those 30 minutes you could be cross training, power walking, jogging, skipping, cycling, the list is endless. Within those 30 minutes you could also be spending time on the area everyone wants to improve on - yes, the stomach!

Remember working out doesn’t have to be a chore, have fun and never limit your routine to gym workouts only. Try and get yourself involved in fitness classes; they are fun, social, energetic and very rewarding and before you know it you’ll be getting ever so close to having a well deserved flat and defined stomach.

Step Three - The Diet
With so much advice and so many opinions on diet who do you listen to and what do you follow? If you are looking to reduce weight then you need to make sure that you follow a low carbohydrate diet, it’s as simple as that. You will need to watch your intake of bread, pasta, potato, rice and anything else that is high in carbohydrate. Keep on top of your protein and drink plenty of water! Follow these simple rules and believe me it will work wonders for you.

Well that’s enough of me for this week but stay tuned for next week as I will be introducing you to a complete home body workout.
